HME’s range of brass alloys also include dezincification resistant brasses CuZn36Pb2As (CW602N) and CuZn35Pb1.5AlAs (CW625N), that are especially developed to resist to corrosion by wet dezincification. They can be produced in solid or hollow rods and are compliant with the standards CW602N EN and C35330/ASTM, and CW625N. They are also recognised by the Swedish Institute for Technical Appproval in Construction (SITAC, Type Approval Certificate 1201/00).
Another alloy (MAA reference) is produced on very special request for the manufacturers of parts in non dezincifiable and amagnetic brass.
This material is strictly controlled according either to EN ISO 6509 or AS/NZS standard.
ROUND, SQUARE, HEXAGONAL RODS
We supply solid brass rods in a wide range of alloys in order to meet the requirements for every type of application as well as the requirements of each customer.
Brass has good mechanical properties combined with high electrical and thermal conductivity as well as excellent corrosion resistance.
Free cutting
Leaded brass is the material that is best suited for free cutting operations. HME can offer its customers a selection of alloys that are adapted to the manufacturing of various types of precision turned parts, ensuring maximum respect of tight dimensional tolerances, excellent straightness and good surface characteristics.
Hot stamping
HME can supply a range of standard and special alloys that meet international standards and are used for the production of complex stamped parts that require high plasticity, good malleability along with excellent machinability.
Cold forming
HME has developed a series of alloys that have both good machinability and excellent cold forming characteristics (Straight length rods and coils).
HOLLOW RODS
Brass hollow rods are essential in many applications that require bored mechanical parts.
Example of shapes
Numerous applications, and in particular for the making of taps and valves (plumbing-heating industry), use many components that require the boring out of parts.
Brass hollow rods offers significant economic advantages, by way of removing the need for drilling operations, and very often the boring out of the parts.
HME offers a wide variety of shapes (as seen in the example on this page) and sizes: The diagram below shows the dimensional range that is available (I.D. / O.D. in mm).
- CuZn36Pb2As (CW602N)
- CuZn35Pb1.5AlAs (CW625N)
- CuZn36Pb3 (CW603N)
- CuZn37Pb2 (CW606N)
- CuZn38Pb2 (CW608N)
- CuZn39Pb0,5 (CW610N)
- CuZn39Pb3 (CW614N)
- CuZn40Pb2 (CW617N)
- CuZn42 (CW510L)
- CuZn38As (CW511L)
All materials are delivered as manufactured and stress relieved. Tolerances on diameter are compliant with EN 12168. Standard length of rods is 3000 mm; on request 4000 mm lengths are available as well. Hollow rods are supplied in 1000 kg bundles with 4 iron strapson corrugated paper or plastic wrapped.
FLAT BARS
Flat bars are mainly used to manufacture electrical and mechanical parts, but are also used as decorative elements.
Our flat bars can be manufactured in a wide variety of sizes, as seen in the following diagram (width and thickness in mm).
HME’s offer of brass bars include flat bars with square corners, flat bars with rounded sides and flat bars with rounded corners. They are all drawn products, delivered as manufactured; their tolerances are compliant with ISO J13.
BRASS PROFILES
HME makes brass profiles in a wide variety of shapes so that we can meet the different needs of various industrial applications as well as the specific needs of architects and designers.
HME can manufacture brass profiles in any shape and for any specific use requested by the customer, from very simple to the most complex shapes. Some examples of simple shapes are: angles, channels, tees, and half rounds as seen in this figure:
These kind of profiles, made by HME in lengths from 3 to 5 meters, are used in numerous applications: interior decoration, building, furnishings, doors and windows.
SECTIONS FOR INDUSTRIAL APPLICATIONS
Combining excellent mechanical and chemical properties with good corrosion resistance and workability, the brass sections fully meet the requirements of industrial applications. Some examples of sections, which HME can supply in lengths from 3 to 4 meters, are represented in the figure below:
LOCK SECTIONS
The lock industry requires reliability and durability. Our products, supplied in bundles or boxes in lengths from 3 to 4 metres, fully guarantee these requirements.
The line of HME brass profiles also includes a product that has been specifically studied for all the needs of modern design: Arkita®.
